French Immersion
Whenever people say language immersion, it always means being completely surrounded or “immersed” in a particular language to learn that particular language. Essentially speaking, French immersion programs operate under that principle. A French immersion program always involves a student traveling into another country that speaks French natively, such as France and Francophone Switzerland, and then undergoing language training in the country and living everyday life using French as the main language.
French immersion courses always provides intense language training that the bulk or the entire program itself is dedicated to that purpose. However, if the programs themselves were not enjoyable, learning would not be efficient. Therefore, French immersion programs always involves a variety of activities other than those encountered in classroom settings. Students get to visit a variety of locations, try out local activities, eat French cuisine and drink French wine, enjoy a variety of arts and do other activities that would make learning French a very well-rounded experience.
There are very good reasons to go learn French in France, Canada or Switzerland. There is high demand for people who are fluent in French in the business, government and education sectors worldwide, and that alone is one good reason to go on a French immersion program.
